WWE Raw TV rating: Did The Rock boost the rating for the first show of 2013?

Monday's WWE Raw television show drew a 3.14 rating, up from the 2.31 rating the show drew on New Year's Eve. Raw averaged 4.42 million viewers, up from the 3.55 million from last week.

Shore's Slant: A better comparison is last year when WWE drew a 3.1 rating on January 2. They did not go up against the BCS Championship game on the first show of 2012. Rather, they did on January 9 when they drew a 2.87 rating. It's worth nothing that Raw was a two-hour show at this time last year. And after all that what do we see? Zero change year to year in the night, and an increase over the last time they went against the BCS title game. Considering this year's game did much better numbers than last year, WWE has to be feeling pretty good about this rating.
