WWE News: WrestleMania special to air on NBC, Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels to be spotlighted

WWE announced on Thursday that the WrestleMania 26 special will air on NBC on Aug. 7 at 8:00 p.m. CT. "The special will feature highlights from WrestleMania XXVI set to music from today’s hottest acts in one lightning-fast hour of family-friendly programming," reads the WWE website. Powell's POV: I understand the move to PG programming, but I don't think the words "family friendly programming" are a great way to hype the WrestleMania special. Anyway, they note that the show will spotlight Undertaker vs. Shawn MIchaels.

I'd love to see them go above and beyond by getting exclusive comments from Shawn and perhaps even Taker regarding their classic matchup. After all, WWE Raw takes place in Shawn's hometown of San Antonio on Monday, so it's not like it would be a chore to send a camera crew to his house. Taker might be a tougher sell simply because he is so protective of his character. If they get Shawn on camera, that would be one way to guarantee that a number of viewers who watched WrestleMania 26 would tune in to see a one-hour recap.
