WWE set a record by selling 52,029 tickets during the first day of the on-sale for WrestleMania 29, beating the WrestleMania 18 record of 51,620 tickets sold. It was the highest grossing ticket revenue after day one with more than $10 million, which topped WrestleMania 28's $6.3 million day one gross.
Powell's POV: I assume the pre-sale and on-sale ticket sales were combined to generate the first day ticket sale numbers. Either way, that's an incredible number for WWE, especially when you consider that damage caused by Hurricane Sandy has many people in the host area thinking about things other than wrestling.
