Chicago Independent Press is reporting that WWE is rumored to be in the discussion stage with Fathom Events to air WrestleMania 27 in movie theaters in the 3D format. To read more on the story, visit ChicagoIndiePress.com.

Powell's POV: The author of the story was quick to point out that it's merely a rumor at this point, so keep that in mind. The story claims that they are haggling over the profit cut at this point. One can only assume that they would have to strike a deal quickly due to scheduling and production needs.

For what it's worth, I love the idea. Then again, I'm a 3D mark who went to see the crap-fest "Tron Legacy" just because if was in 3D. I'm like a junkie when it comes to 3D. The first new age 3D movie I saw was "How To Train Your Dragon" and it was awesome because everything was popping off the screen. I wanted more!

Unfortunately, no 3D movie I've seen since then has been nearly as well done from that standpoint. The worst of the bunch was easily "Clash of the Titans." I would kick the producers of that movie right square in the balls if given the opportunity. On that happy note, we now return you to your normally scheduled pro wrestling talk...
