WWE News: WWE surpasses 100 million Facebook Fans during WrestleMania

WWE issued a press release claiming WWE earned over 100 million fans across the company's various Facebook pages over WrestleMania weekend. The release notes this is more than the NFL and its member clubs combined or MLB and its member clubs combined. Shore's Slant: Those are certainly impressive numbers, but I still don't see how this social media presence is being monetized. They may be building goodwill, but that goodwill has yet to convert to any sort of measurable growth. It doesn't hurt to brag, of course, I just continue to question what social media is actually doing to help WWE and wonder if efforts wouldn't be better served elsewhere.
