WWE issued a press release today announcing Social Media Smackdown, which it calls a "live social media event." The release notes that Michael Cole, Josh Matthews, and Jerry "The King" Lawler will provide live commentary, with "social media content" and "interactive polls" mixed in. Shore's Slant: I wondered how they would do a social media taped show. I'm interested to see if they try to convince viewers that the team is ring side by showing them there in a taped opening and then switching to a live feed and never showing them again, or if they acknowledge the taped nature of the show.
