WWE News: The vote is in on whether the National Guard can still sponsor pro wrestling and NASCAR

An amendment that would have prevented the National Guard from sponsoring pro wrestling and NASCAR events was defeated by a wide margin. "The fact that $53 million in taxpayers' funds is going to sponsor some of the most violent and sexist entertainment on television and NASCAR racing teams that results in zero recruits is a waste of money," said Rep. Powell's POV: I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I never felt it was "violent or sexist entertainment" during my limited viewings. Thus, I assume pro wrestling is the target of McCollum's angst. My guess is that the National Guard is one of the advertisers WWE considers when it comes to how far they want to push the envelope now that they are in their PG era.
