The WWE Films release Legendary is of to a rough start with the critics. The film currently has a 23 percent rating at the Rotten Tomatoes website, which compiles a list of reviews top critics from around the country. The rating will change as more reviews come in.

Legendary critic Roger Ebert was among the critics who gave it a thumbs down. "It's a feel-good Kleenex dispenser of a movie, and there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but it's routine Hallmark Hall of Afterschool Special material." You can check out the reviews at RottenTomatoes.com.

Powell's POV: You'll be happy to know that jackass critic Cole Smithey provided one of the only positive reviews. He was one of only two critics to give Toy Story 3 a thumbs down, presumably to show the world that he goes against the grain and to take advantage of the notoriety that comes along with doing so. Thus, it's no surprise that he'd be one of the few critics to praise Legendary.

That said, I haven't seen the movie yet, and given that it's only available on two screens in my home state, it might be a while before I see John Cena's latest cinematic masterpiece. For what it's worth, my favorite review snippet came from David Fear of Time Out New York. Fear wrote: "It's as if the filmmakers swallowed the sports-movie handbook and regurgitated every cliche in half-digested form."
