WWE News: The Rock’s “Hercules” trailer released, Rock dismisses rival film

Powell's POV: The movie has a July 25 release date according to IMDB. Rock was asked about “The Legend of Hercules” movie that came out in January and bombed with just $18 million at the box office. “When a movie is not built on a foundation of passion then you roll the dice and run the risk of making something that is not up to par," Johnson told USAToday.com. "And I think in that case, that was the type of movie that they made. It came, it went, and I believe it had no impact on our movie."

I’m fairly confident that Rock could make a home movie in his backyard that would deliver more than $18 million at the box office. In case you’re wondering, the “Legend” movie will be released on DVD in April, so it’s not like there will be confusion in the marketplace with the DVD coming out at the same time as the Rock version of Hercules.
