WWE News: Rey Mysterio reveals whether he asked to be released

Rey Mysterio responded to online rumors that he asked to be released from his WWE contract after WrestleMania 27. "Confirming!" Mysterio wrote on Wednesday. "Did not ask for release! Powell's POV: Mysterio has had his share of contractual squabbles with WWE in the past, but I'm not sure where the rumors that he wanted out after WrestleMania 27 started. There were some issues with Mysterio and WWE when he creative told him that they didn't have anything for him after his feud with Alberto Del Rio. As we first reported, he handpicked Cody Rhodes to work a program with when WWE officials gave him that option.
