Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun has announced that he is leaving his position as sports content editor to work as a member of the WWE creative team. "It’s a bittersweet time for me to say the least," Eck wrote. "While I am very excited to be going to work for the professional wrestling industry leader – which also happens to be a company that I have been passionate about since I was 6 years old – saying goodbye to a place where I have so much history is extremely difficult...
"I think this is an exciting time to be joining WWE, which is currently in the process of altering its creative approach. I’ve accepted a position that will allow me to contribute from a creative standpoint and also use my skills as a journalist." To read his full blog, visit BaltimoreSun.com.
Powell's POV: Eck worked as the editor of the WCW Magazine and has worked on and off for the Sun for 22 years. He noted that he'll be moving to Stamford, Conn. and starting with WWE at the end of the month. He was nice enough to join me for a WrestleMania preview audio show a couple years ago, and I wish him the best in his new career move.
