WWE News: Jim Ross comments on his retirement

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross posted a brief blog at JRsBarBQ.com today addressing his sudden retirement from WWE. Ross confirmed that today was his last day in WWE and then offered no explanation for why he left except, "So, at the age [of] 61 it's time to close this chapter of my life and begin exploring new, adventures while my health is great."

Shore's Slant: Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer has reported that Ross was essentially fired for not cutting Ric Flair off at the WWE 2K14 party over SummerSlam weekend. Ross did not address any of those rumors, nor did I expect him to, but if you read the blog I think it comes across that this was not of his will. What a shame.
