WWE reportedly released Chris Spradlin (a/k/a Kassius Ohno) from his NXT developmental deal. The 33 year-old signed with WWE in February 2012.
Powell's POV: Spradlin worked as Chris Hero for Ring of Honor and on the indy scene prior to his WWE run. We reported back on July 17 that there was frustration amongst the developmental staff over Spradlin's perceived lack of commitment to the strength and conditioning program. That said, there's no word yet as to what led to his release from the company. Spradlin is a very talented performer who should have no trouble getting indy bookings, and TNA and Ring of Honor would certainly be wise to reach out to him now that he's contractually available.
