WWE News: A WWE satellite website to close down this weekend

WWEUniverse.com will cease to exist as of January 1, 2011. No official reason was given for the closing. For those who frequented the site, at least three of the features will continue:

- The Monday Night Raw and pay-per-view Live Chats, hosted by Howard Finkel, will move to WWE.com/social/livechat.

- Finkel’s weekly blogs and The Ross Report will move to their Facebook pages.

- The make-your-own-highlight-reel video creation factory known as “Smash-Ups” will be added to WWE.com in the near future.

Shore's Slant: Apparently the social media versions (Twitter, Facebook and YouTube) of WWE universe will survive the cuts. This makes good business sense as the site probably creates little or no revenue for WWE. Hopefully what is being kept are the most popular aspects of the site.
