WWE Diva wants out of her contract, cites sick child

Ashley Massaro announced on her Myspace page that she has requested a release from her WWE contract. "I have a seven year-old daughter and I just found out today that she is not well and I can't be on the road with WWE when my own flesh and blood needs me," Massarro wrote. "...I have to make the decision to bow out of WWE for a while and take care of my daughter.

"I wish I could do both and that there were more ways to get everything done, but with the severity of the situation I'm going to have to ask for an early release for now... I may be back if she gets better." To read the full blog entry, visit her Myspace Page.

Powell’s POV: We haven't seen much of Ashley since Rolling Stone alleged that she worked as a $25,000 per night escort (whatever happened to that lawsuit she threatened to file?). It does seem odd that she would ask to be released from her contract when WWE would probably grant her an extended leave of absence. That being said, I wish her daughter a speedy recovery.
