Dot Net Member Matt attended the WWE "Shooting Straight: DX" panel in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday and sent the following report.

The first hour and a half was meet and greet with complimentary food and drinks including alcohol so I came pretty close to making up the $100 I spent on the ticket in drinks alone. You could get your picture with the likes of Kaitlyn, David Otunga, Aksana, William Regal, Natayla, and Sin Cara. You could get an autograph but not a picture with Randy Orton and Ryback as well. Once this was done we were lead to the Panel.

The panel started with Michael Cole bringing out Triple H and Shawn Micheals (who was not advertised and was a pleasant surprise). They played the DX “Presidential Speech” and they talked about how they had received a list of things from USA that they could not say and they took that list and made that video. They spoke some more about the early days and then went to the video of X-Pac making his debut. They then introduced X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws.

They reminisced about their run and told some entertaining stories. Chyna was brought up and Triple H said that no one saw her as a potential star with the exception of Shawn and himself and he had to work extremely hard to get her to be his body guard. Eventually as a consolation to doing the job to Rocky Maiva the night Shawn lost his smile, Vince McMahon let him run with it, but if it failed it was all on him. They all spoke very highly of her and said they will always remember her as one of the guys "who could fart louder than Billy Gunn."

They went to the crowd for questions and surprisingly they weren’t’ screened. A question was asked if there was anyone they wanted in DX but the overall opinion was that they were fine with just them, although X Pac mentioned Val Venis was almost added. I was picked and tried to ask “So when the Voddo Kin Mafia…” and was jokingly cut off by Road Dogg to go to the next question, and Triple H said he honestly had no idea who I was talking about.

Shawn said "that was their TNA Gimmick and it took him 10 months to get the 'VKM' reference." Anyway I got to finish my question and asked about the "House Show Invasion" they did while in TNA. Road Dogg said it was just another horrible Vince Russo idea and he’s been sober for two years and didn’t want to go back down that road.

Overall, it was a very entertaining evening and worth the price of admission. Triple H did say this was just the beginning and there are plans to do more of these types of panels in the future on a larger scale.
