WWE Superstars Hits

Legacy vs. Evan Bourne and Primo: This is a hit, but only because it was a decent match. Legacy did not look particularly strong here. The win came at the last second, from behind, and they beat guys who have jobbed more than the Mulkey Brothers (WCW Saturday Night baby!). I appreciate that they gave four young guys 12 plus minutes, but it was a throwaway match that helped nobody.

The Masked Villain: This is a hit. I have waited for a masked heel to face Hurricane since the days of S.H.I.T. I had hoped it was Rosey then, but this is much better. The mask was terrible (see below), but the angle is very good. Is it just me, or does ECW have the most compelling storylines as a whole right now?

Dolph Ziggler vs. Matt Hardy: This gets a hit for two reasons. First, Ziggler got a much needed win. Second, he won with a backslide. One of my biggest complaints about WWE forever has been that nobody wins without hitting a finisher. Nobody ever buys near falls on backslides, inside cradles, and rollups because they rarely end matches. It was nice to see this match end the same way that The Greatest of All Time won his second of 16 title reigns.

Overall show: We have seen much better shows. But there is no push category here so I give it a hit. Nothing important was particularly bad. It was just a cookie cutter show night that entertained, but created no excitement.

WWE Superstars Misses

Paul Burchill's Mask: WTF was that? That mask was the dumbest thing I have ever seen, and I've watched wrestling for years. There is no specific thing wrong with the mask, the whole think is stupid. If I have to pick, the weird black cloth that hung over the mouth was the worst. Here's hoping they get a better mask before next week.
