Shawn Michaels issued his first public comments on Jeff Hardy’s 60-day suspension for violating the WWE wellness policy. “Jeff’s a quiet kid,” Michaels said. “I found out the news like everybody else did. For me, a lot of guys don’t want to go the direction I went. For me, it was the Lord Jesus Christ. It was one step.
“It comes down to just trying to appeal to his way of life, living the life of truth. That takes submission and humility. Each person comes to that place or fork in the road at different times. I hope Jeff is there and comes through this.”
Michaels also commented on working with Mr. Kennedy. “I think we had to get used to each other,” said Michaels. “Ken has a different style, so there were some adjustments for him to make and adjustments for me to make. That is pretty common when you get in there with new guys who you haven’t been in there with. We tried to do a little something different, which is more mat wrestling.” To read the full article, visit MiamiHearld.com.
Powell’s POV: There’s a lot more to this article, including HBK’s comments on working with other wrestlers to improve his mat wrestling skills and, of course, working with Ric Flair at WrestleMania. Highly recommended. I'll have more comments on Michaels and Hardy in my blog later today.
