Ric Flair stated during the WrestleMania press conference held Saturday before the Hall of Fame ceremony that he would never wrestle again if he lost to Shawn Michaels. He also included comments on whether his match belonged in the main event slot at WrestleMania 24.
Flair on whether he'll consider staying in the business as a manager or a general manager: "Yes, but not a wrestler—ever. The one thing everybody needs to understand is that if I lose (at WrestleMania), I will never wrestle again. I'm not going to take off and start wrestling independent shows or anything like that. I will never wrestle again after (WrestleMania)."
Flair on whether he felt his match belonged in the WrestleMania 24 main event slot: "I've been asked that a thousand times. The World Champions go on last. If I was world champion and they tried to put someone on before me—I wouldn't care who it was—I wouldn't be going on. And I'm very happy to be where I'm at on the card." Powell's POV: Great audio. Flair chokes up as soon as he enters the room and again at the end of the interview. He had some really good comments in between and this free audio clip is highly recommended.
