Bubba the Love Sponge opened his radio show today by discussing rumors that Hulk Hogan will wrestle Steve Austin at WrestleMania 24. Bubba said Hogan was unavailable, so he called Eric Bischoff, who said Hogan was in flight at the time. Bischoff said Hogan hasn’t mentioned anything to him and he highly doubts there’s anything to the rumors because of Austin’s injuries. He added that nothing would surprise him.
They also discussed Floyd Mayweather’s claim of making $20 million for his WrestleMania appearance. They said there is no possible way that is a legit figure, and noted that Hogan may have made $12 million in his best year. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Jagger K.]
Powell’s POV: Jagger noted that he missed the beginning of the conversation. He went back and listened to it on the internet later and discovered that a caller asked Bubba about it after reading the rumor on a website. I wonder if it's the same site that claimed Eminem will appear at WrestleMania? I haven't heard this rumor, nor have I read it on any reputable news site. For the record, Austin has stated on numerous occasions that he has no interest in working with Hogan.
