Mr. Kennedy commented on his injury status during a WrestleCast interview. "It's at the point right now where it's just really frustrating," Kennedy said. "I'm at about 95 percent I would say. It's just trying to get that last five percent. Dr. Andrews, when he tightened me up, he said he really tightened up the front part of my shoulder, so now it's just a matter of breaking that free getting that full range of motion back."

"It's terrible," he said. "I've been with the company for four years. This is my fourth WrestleMania. It's the second one I'll be riding the pine for. It's like your team goes to the Super Bowl and you get to sit on the bench and watch. You get a ring, but you don't really feel like you earned it." Powell's POV: Kennedy said he's been pushing hard and had hoped to return to the ring in time for WrestleMania 25, but he said it won't happen. I guess we can't rule out a surprise appearance on the show. However, I assume they'll save his return for after WrestleMania. In fact, he stated during the interview that he plans to spend a few weeks in Florida Championship Wrestling to knock off the ring rust.
