WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on Shawn Michaels: "Communicated w/HBK and he's had the summer off that he needed. Was in great spirits and never mentioned 'retirement.' I would love to see Shawn back at Summerslam but that has not been confirmed."
Powell's POV: WWE appeared to be working under the impression that HBK would be back for SummerSlam. After all, they featured HBK in the video that was used to promote said show during last night's pay-per-view. Fingers crossed.
-Ross on Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio from The Bash: "Loved the Jericho-Rey match at the Bash. Amazing stuff. Two, big time players delivered and their bout was challenging to follow. What's next for these two? The Edge/Jericho dynamic intrigues me. Really happy that they're on SD. Expect them to be capable of adding to Raw as well."
Powell's POV: Most of us assumed that Edge and Jericho would end up working Raw matches since the Unified Tag Titles can be defended on any brand. They should definitely beef up the show with some added star power. As for Jericho vs. Rey, I already mentioned earlier today in The Bash Hitlist that it was an instant classic.
-Ross on Jerry Brisco: "Jerry Brisco will have heart surgery this Thursday in Tampa to repair a heart defect with which he was born. Jerry is ready to get this matter behind him and start getting back to 100 percent."
Powell's POV: Our thoughts and prayers will be with Jerry and his family on Thursday.
Other topics include one wrestler who Ross doesn't expect to be left off many pay-per-view lineups going forward, a challenging week for WWE, and more thoughts on The Bash pay-per-view.
