Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on WWE starting a faction of young wrestlers: "I would personally like to see some of the WWE’s young wrestlers, especially the second generation ones, form an entity and see what cream rises to the top over time. Plus it would provide some new TV faces which never hurts."

Powell's POV: I agree. There's a lot of buzz about the possibility of a young faction forming, but I fear that J.R. mentioning it in his blog means that it's unlikely to happen simply because WWE wouldn't want him revealing a storyline. Maybe I'm overanalyzing this one. I hope so.

-Ross on the Hogan family drama: "Speaking of the beleaguered Hogan’s….I have great empathy for the entire and unfortunate situation especially for the young man who was so severely injured in the car crash but for the media to bring Hulk’s divorce and personal life into this tragedy seems like piling on to me. I still think Hogan got bad advice going on the 'Larry King Show' last week but that’s just one man’s opinion. I certainly would suggest that Hulk lay low and let the process play out but the same can be said for the media that wants to exploit all aspects of the Hogan family."

Powell's POV: I think he created sympathy among the fans who want to support him, but I don't think he won over too many people who were offended by the jailhouse phone calls. Most of all, I'm surprised Hogan's lawyers let him make this appearance with the civil lawsuit looming.

-Ross responding to ROH booker Gabe Sapolsky correcting him: "O.K., I got it….there is no 'the' in Ring of Honor. My mistake. I would like to blame The Mike Adamle for the over use of the word 'the' but it’s simply my mistake.

Powell's POV: Ross was a good sport regarding Gabe's correction.

Other topics include wrestling's greatest groups, Dwayne Johnson's latest flick, and mixed martial arts.
