WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on Undertaker's next challenger: "I assume that 'Taker is Batista's next target as I can't see a return match from Sunday night. Taker-Batista seems the most logical but I don't have any inside info to base this on FYI.
Powell's POV: It will be interesting to see whether the fans boo Batista when he faces Taker. My guess is that he gets more boos than cheers once that feud kicks in.
-Ross on Rey Mysterio: "Will Rey be off for while after sustaining the beating from the Animal."
Powell's POV: There are been reports that Mysterio will be undergoing knee surgery soon. Rey has had multiple knee surgeries over the years, so it is alarming to hear that he needs another procedure.
-Ross on young WWE wrestlers: "The key, young guys got the chance to shine in the first tag bout including (Dolph) Ziggler, Miz, (Jack) Swagger, (Drew) McIntyre, and Sheamus. All these guys are 'keepers' and are counted on to be future, PPV headliners. The creative debate aside, the level of success these young men find will largely be up to them, how innovative they can become, and how willing they are to dedicate themselves to getting better and being reliable and problem free individuals. Good, solid opening contest."
Powell's POV: I was surprised to see Dolph eliminated early, but it was a good night for Miz, McIntyre, and Sheamus. It's good to see these wrestlers get a chance to shine. Eventually, though, the top guys will have to help them shine, just as Randy Orton is doing for Kofi Kingston.
Other topics include much more on the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Kofi Kingston, a crazy cop story, the three-man broadcast team at the pay-per-view.
