WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.'s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.

-Ross on Sting to WWE rumors: "My Twitter, @JRsBBQ, timeline is being hammered with the latest Sting rumors of him coming to WWE at some point in the future. Are these rumors of any significant difference than the basic, same ones that we've been hearing since WCW closed their doors or every time Sting's contract nears it's end? As best that I know, Sting is very happy where he is currently working and has no plans to launch a WWE in ring career at the age of 54. I've known Sting since day one and have immense respect for the man and do feel that he will be a WWE HOFer some day."

Powell's POV: The story of Sting reaching out to WWE was reported by a reputable reporter in Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com. Sting's deal with TNA comes up annually around January, so it's logical that he would have at least informal discussions with WWE to gauge whatever interest they may have or simply to drive up his value with the decision makers in TNA. It's possible he has interest in getting a big WrestleMania payoff before he retires, but it's also possible that he doesn't want that type of pressure at this late stage in his career. The interest this now annual story generates indicates that Sting working a WWE match is marketable. The fan choice match with Undertaker is certainly a dream matchup on paper, but Taker takes a lot of pride in match quality and I'm just not sure he could count on Sting, who will turn 55 before WrestleMania 30, to measure up to the classics Taker has had in recent years with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and C.M. Punk. That said, the spectacle of such a dream match could sell a lot of pay-per-views.

-Ross on his ESPN project: "The project that I worked on with ESPN.com on OU football will be published this coming Tuesday at espn.com. Five of our all had a fantasy draft to comprise an offense and a defense including specialists of former Sooners. There were actually two men drafted that had distinguished, pro wrestling careers."

Powell's POV: We'll definitely run a story on Tuesday with a link to the ESPN piece. I still wonder what type of pro wrestler Brian Bosworth would have made. It seemed like a natural one-off transition for the former Sooner turned NFL bust, but it never materialized.

-Ross on an best call tournament: "Check out the poll that's ongoing now at Awfulannouncing.com as one of my old calls is in the competition."

Powell's POV: It's Jim Ross's call of Undertaker throwing Mankind off the top of the Hell in a Cell structure against Vin Scully's call of Kirk Gibson's game winning home run in the 1988 World Series. It's Scully letting it breathe against JR's "God God Almighty...as God as my witness, he is broken in half!" As much I appreciate Scully and really any announcer who lets a moment breathe, I gotta go Ross here. However, JR would have to bribe me with BBQ sauce if he goes up against Jack Buck's "And we'll see you tomorrow night..." or Al Michaels' "Do You Believe In Miracles?"
