WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.'s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.

-Ross on Daniel Bryan: "Daniel Bryan may be more popular today than if he had actually won the WWE Title at Summer Slam. Bryan will now apparently chase new Champ Randy Orton and the thrill of the fan favorite chasing the antagonist has always interested me as a fan."

Powell's POV: Okay, so technically Bryan did win the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, only to lose it to Orton courtesy of a Pedigree from Triple H. I still believe they could have accomplished everything they did without actually having Bryan win the title. I may be in the minority on that one, but I really believe there's something special about that first WWE Championship win.

-Ross on C.M. Punk vs. Brock Lesnar: "(C.M. Punk) vs. Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman was another masterpiece. I predicted that it would be overtly physical and it certainly was in delivering a 'DEE-LUX' Slobber Knocker of a match."

Powell's POV: This match won our poll for best match of the big two and I agree with that result. Both matches were great, but I was blown away by the Punk vs. Lesnar match and the intensity they maintained from bell to bell.

-Ross on Monday's WWE Raw: "Monday's Raw kept the primary storylines rolling extremely well. Thought the opening and closing segments of Raw were spot on and continued to further enhance the heroes and villains within the Bryan/Orton issue."

Powell's POV: The focus was definitely on those top storylines. It felt like there was some filler on Monday night, but there's no denying that they spotlighted the key programs. My concern going forward is that Bryan's feud is with the McMahon family (including Triple H) as much as it is with Randy Orton, and Punk's feud is with Paul Heyman right now. I don't think they will have any trouble shifting Bryan's focus to Orton, but I am curious to see if they add another Paul Heyman Guy to the mix soon to feud with Punk.
