Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on the Charlie Haas spoof: "Charlie Haas's impersonation of yours truly got Charlie noticed again, which was the point. No worries here as that road has been traveled before. Upside here was that our Bar-B-Q biz got a Mamajuana-like TV mention. Perhaps I need to go on Lawler’s no carb diet after seeing Charlie’s 'drum.'
Powell's POV: What does this really do for Charlie long-term? Maybe I'm wrong, but I just see this gimmick as a short-term thing that overshadows whoever Haas is in the ring with. I'm fine when he's working with undercard guys, but I didn't like the idea of him overshadowing the young guys like Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, Manu, and Kofi Kingston.
-Ross on Steve Austin: "My blurb on Steve Austin certainly got people talking about Steve returning to ring for “one more match.” To the best of my knowledge, Steve has no intention of returning to the ring, but is working out like a warrior to prepare for his upcoming movie role. Austin does seem like a leading candidate to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 in Houston."
Powell's POV: There will be rumors about Austin returning to the ring from now until WrestleMania 25 since the show is being held in his native Texas. Austin has added some fuel to the fire by saying that he thinks he might have one more match left in him. Will it happen? Hard to say at this point.
