Jesse Ventura told Eric Cohen of About.com that Hulk Hogan told VInce McMahon about the plan to unionize back in the '80s. "Hogan was the one that ratted me out to Vince," Ventura said. "From the days that I came into wrestling, that was a no-no and Hogan knows that. You were called an office stooge if you ratted a guy to the promoter. And that's how I feel Hogan was to me, an office stooge."
Ventura recalled McMahon stating under oath that Hogan told him about Jesse's plan to unionize. "I didn't show any emotion but I almost fell out of the chair," he said. "At that time, Hogan and I were friends. And I thought, wow, he is the guy that ran and ratted me out when I tried to unionize wrestling.
"I found out why he did it though. Because in discovery of my court case, I found out that at WrestleMania 3, Hulk Hogan individually got paid more money than all the rest of us did combined. And that is documented." To read the full interview, check out Prowrestling.About.com.
Powell's POV: Ventura has been upset with Hogan over the unionizing issue for years. If the allegation is accurate, it's hard to blame him. Did Hogan really make more than everyone else on the WrestleMania 3 card combined? I'm not sure how Jesse would know either way since it's not like WWE publicizes their pay-per-view payoffs. For now, I guess we'll chalk it up to another Ventura conspiracy theory.
