Dot Net reader Dan Strauss attended Jesse Ventura's book signing in Rochester, Minn. on Friday and passed along the following recap.

Jesse mainly talked about issues and his work with conspiracies, but did manage to throw a wrestling reference in there that shouldn't surprise anyone. The subject came to healthcare and how he'd like to see every American have the chance to get it affordably. He said he's never had to worry about it much because he's been covered for so long under the Screen Actor's Guild.

Jesse then quipped, "Well, Vince McMahon wouldn't ever let me unionize, so I had to get healthcare somehow." I also heard him speaking to a reporter later on and talking about Adrian Adonis. He showed up sharply at 6:00 p.m. and spoke for a little over an hour, then started signing. We had ticket number 180 and finally got our books signed after 9 p.m. and I know for sure tickets were numbered at least as high as 250. The store did say that they had sold out of his book at a certain point, and Jesse mentioned his book is currently No. 6 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Powell's POV: Ventura will also be signing books at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. on Sunday, and will be a Rosedale Mall on Tuesday.
