How many people bought WWE SummerSlam, Night of Champions, and Breaking Point?

WWE released the pay-per-view buy info as part of their third-quarter earnings report on Thursday. They made $14.5 million in the quarter, which is down 10 percent from the same quarter in 2008 when they made $16.4 million.

-Night of Champions had 267,000 buys, which is up from the 196,000 buys that The Bash did in the same quarter last year.

-SummerSlam had 369,000 buys, which is down from the 477,000.

-The new Breaking Point pay-per-view had 169,000 buys, which is down from the 211,000 buys that Unforgiven drew last year around the same time.

Powell's POV: Lousy numbers for WWE. They have to be especially frustrated by SummerSlam drawing over 100,000 fewer buys compared to last year. At some point you'd think the flat numbers would be enough to make Vince McMahon shake things up creatively and stop banking on the same tired acts.
