Former independent wrestler, and almost WWE wrestler, Devon Nicholson has filed a $6.5 million lawsuit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against wrestling legend, and WWE Hall of Famer, Abdullah the Butcher (a/k/a Larry Shreve).

The suit stems from claims made by Nicholson that Abdullah gave him Hepatitis C during a match they wrestled in 2007, and claims negligence, assault, and battery. Nicholson received an offer from WWE in 2009, but had it withdrawn when the Hepatitus C screening came back positive. You can read a report, which notes Abdullah was served on Monday, here.

Shore's Slant: OK first and foremost, the link takes you to an article that is written very favorably for Nicholson. In fact, I almost considered not linking to it, but I wanted you guys to have the source.

Secondly, this could be a potential bombshell for wrestling much like steroids was in the 80s. It is well known that Hep C has made, and continues to make, its way around the wrestling world. Nicholson's is just one of many careers that have been ruined by the disease.

I interviewed Nicholson back in April after the launch of his "Don't Bleed on Me" video. The 40+ minute interview is available exclusively on the member's site.
