Dot Net WWE News: WWE cracking down on marijuana use

Prowrestling.net has confirmed reports that several WWE wrestlers have been confronted about failing marijuana tests. The failures are not considered violations of the Wellness Policy. Rather, a positive test results in a $1,000 fine. One Smackdown performer has failed nearly a dozen tests.

Powell's POV: I'm not sure what inspired the company's sudden interest in the marijuana test failures. Until recently, the wrestlers simply paid their fine and faced no other repercussions. The crackdown has frustrated a number of wrestlers and some have told friends that they will continue to use pot in spite of the crackdown. Others predict that some of the wrestlers who have been approached by management will replace pot with alcohol.
