Dot Net WWE News: Championship Scramble concept, Matt Striker, WWE developmental note

-Although Matt Striker credited Pat Patterson with the concept of the Championship Scramble match during the Unforgiven broadcast, the word is that Patterson did not actually come up with the idea for the match. Rather, he's been telling people that he likes the concept because it has elements of the Royal Rumble match. No word on what he thought of the final product.

-Speaking of Striker, his "Vote Republican" line during ECW last week didn't surprise those who know him. Friends say he's a hardcore Republican and he's never been shy about sharing his political views.

-There is plenty of frustration in WWE developmental over the number of talent compared to the number of trainers. The staff is finding it difficult to find time for everyone and the feeling is that they need to hire more staff members or reduce the number of wrestlers in Florida Championship Wrestling.

Powell's POV: I'm not sure who pitched the Scramble idea and it's possible that Patterson played some role in the planning, but I was told that it was not his original concept. There have been variations of the match done in the past.

No word on whether Striker caught any grief for sneaking that line in. WWE officials should ask him to refrain from making comments like that in the future since they're trying to position the Smackdown the Vote campaign as bipartisan.

Dusty Rhodes is said to be having a hard time coming up with characters for all the wrestlers they have in FCW these days. The situation in at the training center has improved now that they have indoor plumbing, but it sounds like there's still room for improvement in other areas.
