It appears that WWE and USA Network will indeed to bring back the "Tough Enough" reality television show. A well-placed source reports that the format could be tweaked, and adds that WWE is actually talking with a respected production company that specializes in reality television about handling the production of the show.

Powell's POV: It's interesting that WWE is talking about bringing in outside help for this reality television venture. I wonder if USA Network made that recommendation or if WWE officials learned from the lousy NXT television show that they don't have a good feel for reality television. Either way, I think it's a great idea to bring in outsiders with a strong history in the genre.

The source estimated the chances of "Tough Enough" returning at 90 to 95 percent. There's no word yet on what type of format tweaks are being discussed, but I hope they don't stray too far from the successful season one approach. The show was successful for MTV and it wasn't scrapped due to ratings. Rather, the network and WWE officials were not on the same page over the format going forward, as people within WWE felt that it exposed too much of the inner workings of the business, and people with the network felt that was the key to the show's success.
