Sean Waltman is checking out of a treatment facility in Houston today after staying more than three months. During a phone conversation on Thursday night, Waltman said he was in a great place mentally and feels it's time to take the next step. He was originally scheduled to get out of the facility last month, but he chose to stay longer to get additional care. He will continue to take part in an outpatient program and WWE is covering all expenses.

Although it sounded like the talks have been informal, Waltman stated that he has spoken with Triple H about the possibility of working for WWE in a behind the scenes capacity. He also expressed gratitude to Vince McMahon and the company for their help, and spoke highly of longtime friend Kevin Nash, who went out of his way to pick up Waltman in Mexico and escort him to the treatment facility.

Powell's POV: Sean was in a very dark place back in early February, but he sounded genuinely excited about life again after battling drug problems and serious depression issues. He seemed happy and confident when I spoke to him late last night. His first advertised in-ring date is on the NWA event in Atlanta on June 7, and he is accepting additional indy bookings.

WWE could be a good place for Waltman right now if he thinks he can handle the workload. There was a time when it was one of the last places I would have felt a recovering addict should work due to the hectic schedule and the party scene. The travel is still tough even for non-wrestling personnel, but times have changed and the party scene is tame compared to what it was like during his previous runs.
