Dot Net Exclusive: Rey Mysterio health update, additional surgeries were required

Rey Mysterio underwent three surgeries on his torn biceps. He is telling friends that two additional surgeries were necessary because he acquired an infection during the first procedure. He is currently in Orlando for WrestleMania 24, but he does not know whether he will appear on the show. Mysterio is now targeting June for his return to the ring.

Powell’s POV: Mysterio is still hopeful of appearing on the WrestleMania card in some fashion. He was previously assured by management that he would be part of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show story line. However, the direction changed when Mayweather turned heel. I assume Rey is targeting the June 1 “No Way Out” pay-per-view for his return since the show is being held in his hometown of San Diego, but nothing is official.
