Rey Mysterio is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his torn biceps in San Diego today. He has opted to undergo a new technique that will be performed by a surgeon who has worked with the San Diego Chargers. The rehabilitation time for this procedure is said to be as short as six weeks, whereas the traditional surgery he was originally slated to have performed by James Andrews would have kept him out of action for up to six months. He pushed back the date of the surgery, which had been scheduled for Friday, so that he could take part in the WrestleMania 24 press conference on Monday.

Powell’s POV: Although Mysterio desperately wants to work a match at WrestleMania, he still won't be ready in time. As previously noted, WWE officials have assured him that he will have a story line role in the Roger Mayweather vs. Big Show feud. The story line appeared to be put in place at the press conference on Monday when it was announced that Mysterio would train Mayweather for his match.
