Dot Net Exclusive: Oscar De La Hoya contacted by WWE, no interest in taking part in the Floyd Mayweather angle
Feb 19, 2008 - 12:00 AM

Prowrestling.net has learned that WWE officials reached out to boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya about taking part in the Floyd Mayweather angle. However, he had no interest in doing so.

Powell’s POV: Mayweather and De La Hoya are building toward a September rematch. The widespread belief is that Mayweather was booed by the Anaheim crowd last night because he was in the heart of De La Hoya country. However, as one of our readers pointed out, Floyd has played the heel role while hyping his recent fights with De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton so he could be greeted with similar reactions at upcoming shows.
