Dot Net Exclusive: Is a past C.M. Punk and Carlito argument the inspiration for a WWE commercial?

One of WWE’s latest commercials has some similarities to a past locker room argument that took place between C.M. Punk and Carlito. The commercial shows Carlito hitting on Maria behind Santino Marella’s back. When Punk was dating Maria a while back, Carlito made a point of flirting with her. She insinuated that he wouldn’t flirt with her in front of Punk, so he made a point of doing just that. Punk was offended and the two wrestlers had a minor locker room altercation.

Powell’s POV: I have no idea whether the commercial has any connection to this story, but there are some parallels. It’s a funny story nonetheless. It’s also worth noting that Carlito and Santino reportedly performed a skit at one of the house shows over the weekend in which Carlito insinuated that he used a Punk t-shirt to wipe himself, which is odd because Punk isn’t even on the same brand as Carlito and Santino.
