C.M. Punk is more over with the live crowds than he is with most WWE agents. Multiple sources report that Punk has rubbed some agents the wrong way throughout his run in WWE. He has a sarcastic tone that doesn’t sit well with some members of management, and even some of his defenders admit that he has a “snarky” attitude at times and say they understand how it can lead to heat.

The general feeling in the locker room is that he entered WWE with a big head stemming from his Ring of Honor run. He’s definitely won some people over since then, yet he continues to butt heads with some agents and wrestlers. It’s worth noting that one defender feels there may have been some jealousy in some circles over his past relationship with Maria.

Powell’s POV: I don’t think anyone can point to a single incident that occurred to sour the agents on Punk, as much as he just has a personality conflict with some members of management. He developed a lot of heat during his run in TNA. He was frustrated with his lack of a push and he wasn’t afraid to let people know it.

It was easy to side with Punk in his dispute with TNA because they didn’t seem to recognize his talent or potential, although I have heard from a number of veterans who say he handled his business poorly and was not a popular person in the locker room.

I met Punk a few times when he worked on the indy scene before his Ring of Honor run and he was always a good guy. I know he had some problems with the local promoter, but I never had a problem dealing with him. He was also friendly when I saw him again a few years later in Ring of Honor, so I can’t say anything negative about the guy.
