WWE Smackdown Taping
Green Bay, Wisc.
Report by Dot Net reader Rich Hilton

1. Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysteiro and Batista and Finlay beat MVP and JBL and The Brian Kendrick and Kane. Kendrick and Finlay started and the babyfaces worked over Kendrick. Hornswaggle grabbed Kendrick's jacket and taunted him. Ezekiel Jacons grabbed Finlay on the outside, and JBL and company worked over Finlay.

There was a hot tag to Mysterio, and he splashed MVP off Batista's shoulders. Rey teasesd the 619, but Kane cut him off. The heels worked over Rey until he made a hot tag to Hardy and then everyone entered the ring. Rey hit the 619 on MVP. Hardy followed up with the Swanton Bomb for the pinfall.

In the back, Big Show told Mike Adamle that he's in charge because Vickie Guerrero was not there. Show and Chavo argued over who was in charge. Show said he was making a match for Chavo.

2. Santino Marella defeated Shelton Benjamin. It probably won't make TV, but Santino ripped on Aaron Rodgers and praised Brett Favre before the match. He said Favre's a man's man and Rodgers is a pansy. Funny stuff. This was a short match that Santino won with a schoolboy when Shelton was distracted by Ron "The Truth" Killings, who came out and rapped in the crowd. Killings eventually made his way to ringside and then up the ramp.

Big Show stood in the ring and said it was time for Chavo's match.

3. Mark Henry and Great Khali defeated Chavo Guerrero in a handicap match. The match was a squash as expected with Khali getting the submission win by squeezing Chavo's head. After the match, Show said he was going to show Undertaker no mercy just like he showed Chavo. The lights went out. Gong... Gong... Taker appeared in the ring. He posed for a minute, saluted the crowd in the ring, and again at the top of the stage before heading backstage.

4. C.M. Punk and Carlito and Primo defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase and Manu in a six-man tag. Primo and DiBiase started the match. The heels worked over Carlito until he made a hot tag to Punk. All six men entered the ring and fall but Punk and DiBiase ended up on the floor. Punk hit his finisher for the win.

5. Beth Phoenix beat Michelle McCool in a Diva lumberjack (lumberjill?) match. McCool ended up on the floor, where the Divas beat on her. After she got back in the ring, the Diva's fought amongst themselves. Phoenix ended up winning with a reverse sit down powerbomb.

6. Triple H defeated Matt Hardy and Chris Jericho in a Triple Threat match. Main Event. Hunter and Hardy double teamed Jericho early. Hunter DDT'd Hardy, but Jericho attacked Hunter with Hardy down. Hunter hit a running knee on Jericho.

Later, Jericho went for superplex on Hardy. At the same time, Hunter got under Jericho and at the same time Jericho superplexed Hardy, Hunter powerbombed Jericho. Hunter put a sleeper on Jericho, but Jericho hit the chin buster. Jericho went for a lionsault, but missed.

Hunter went for a figure four on Jericho, but was pushed off, which sent him into Hardy, who was standing on the ring apron. With Hardy down on the floor, Jericho locked Hunter in a Boston crab. Hardy eventually recovered and broke it up. Hardy got Jericho in a small package for a two count. Hardy followed up with a bulldog on Jericho for another nearfall. There were several near finishes here. Hunter managed to get back in the ring and he ended up hitting the Pedigree on Hardy for the three count.

After the main event, Jericho attacked Hunter and grabbed a ladder from underneath the ring. Jericho hit Hardy with the ladder and was about to squash Hardy in with it. Enter Jeff Hardy, who attacked Jericho. Triple H stood up and spun Jeff around, but Jeff hit the Twist of Fate on Hunter. Jeff teased a swanton off the ladder onto Hunter, but Vladimir Kozlov came in and attacked Jeff and Triple H.

Jeff and Hunter eventually stood up and shook hands. Hunter played to the crowd for a bit to close out the night. Decent show.

Biggest pops: Taker, CM Punk, Hardys
Most heat: JBL and Jericho
