Dot Net reader James A. Morman is at the WWE Smackdown taping in Cleveland, OH and passed along the following results of the WWE Smackdown taping.

WWE Smackdown:

Jeff Hardy’s music and pyro hit and C.M. Punk came out dressed as Hardy. Punk said something about never seeing Hardy again, but he had so much heat, it was difficult to hear him. He said “Now you have a champion you can be proud of.”

He called out The Undertaker and the crowd chanted for Jeff Hardy. Punk said Taker had never seen or met a man like Punk before. He said he had only one vice. Matt Hardy came out and cleared the ring of Punk as referees broke the two of them up.

Rey Mysterio vs. John Morrison for the Intercontinental Championship and C.M. Punk vs. Matt Hardy were announced for later in the show.

1. Finlay and The Great Khali defeated Kane and Mike Knox. Finlay won the match with his team after pinning Knox following a shillegleh shot.

Teddy Long and Vince McMahon were backstage promoting the WCW DVD. Vince said he liked last week’s match between Punk and Hardy, as well as Taker’s interaction with Punk at SummerSlam. Vince was wearing a Pepto Bismol colored jacket and Long said he would feel honored to wear it himself someday.

Maria, Eve, and Michelle (on crutches) were talking. Michelle called Maria “Dolph’s flavor of the week.” Melina entered and Michelle took off. Melina said she was worried about Maria and Ziggler.

2. John Morrison defeated Rey Mysterio to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Early double count out spot early but both men made it in just before ten. Great back and forth match with Morrison scoring the win and the championship. Dot Net reader Dewey West checked in and said it was about a twenty minute match.

R-Truth came out and cut a promo on Drew McIntyre.

3. Maria and Eve defeated Natalya and Layla.

4. C.M. Punk vs. Matt Hardy in a non-title match ended in a no contest. Punk was announced as “the first straight edge champion in WWE history.” The Undertaker interrupted the match and chokeslammed Punk through the announce table.

Dark Match:

DX (Shawn Michaels and Triple H) defeated Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes) in a steel cage match. DX was over throughout the match with the crowd and received a lot of "woooos" when they performed knife edge chops.
