Dot Net reader Aaron Corbett is at the WWE Smackdown taping in Louisville, Ky. and is passing along updates on the WWE NXT taping. You will need to hit refresh for the latest updates.

The arena is heavily tarped. No more than 6,000 or so seats available due to the tarping in the 20,000 seat arena. I can see backstage: someone is getting stretchered tonight. The HD set does not look very impressive in person.

Dark Match

1. Alberto del Rio defeated JD Jordan (local jobber). Alberto cut a promo in Spanish. He got the the "what" chants. He said he will continue to speak his beautiful Spanish whether we like or not. He wrestles like a big man, but he's not that big. Will be future endeavor class of 2011. Del rio won but I missed the finisher.

WWE NXT Taping

NXT is starting. As usual, Michael Cole is booed out of the building.

The Pros and Nexus were on the stage. Wade Barrett told the pros the Nexus were there to watch and the pros shouldn't do anything stupid like attack them.

1. Mark Henry and Lucky Cannon defeated The Miz and Alex Riley. Henry and Lucky won when Miz sacrificed Riley for a World's Strongest Slam. Then he threw trash on him for good measure.

We sat through 15 minutes if recap and DVD ads. Seriously.

The Showtime talk show with John Salley, er, Percy Watson was up next. It's fitting that he had a VIP lounge-like set and had MVP as the guest. Very interesting. Watson set up MVP to be jumped by the new NXT. MVP countered with the pros. Matt Striker made it a battle royal, but Wade Barrett says the Nexus can take them and show who is the best. So there will be a 20-man over the top rope battle royal.

2. The Nexus won a 20-man battle royal. As soon as the bell rang, The Nexus left the ring, essentially making it a lumberjack battle royal There's a neat idea. The Pros and Rookies got tired of getting beat by The Nexus and joined forces to fight The Nexus, at least momentarily.

It came down to five pros and all six Nexus members. Miz eliminated Zack Ryder (woo woo). He then eliminated himself to avoid The Nexus. The Nexus ganged up on John Morrison and Kofi Kingston while The Dashing One Cody Rhodes watched. The Nexus crew won the match with all six of their members remaining.

Wade finished off with a good promo. You're either Nexus or against us.
