TNA house show
Abilene, Tex.
Report by Dot Net reader Harris Thatcher
1. Shark Boy beat Kiyoshi. OK, but not outstanding.
2. Sarita and Hamada beat The Beautiful People. Good match although Sarita and Hamada are way better in the ring that Angelina and Velvet. Who cares? Velvet is hot.
3. Suicide beat Consequences Creed. Good match. I don't like Suicide doing the gun to the head thingy. That's not cool. I saw a a couple of 7 or 8 year old kids doing the gun to the head move later in the night.
4. Lashley defeated Bashir. Was there any doubt this was going to happen? Duh!! I didn't buy a ticket to see a squash match.
5. Eric Young defeated Black Machismo. Boring.
6. Abyss and Team 3D defeated Kurt Angle, Brutus Magnus, and Doug Williams. Mick Foley was the special enforcer. OK match but I really, really expected more from TNA.
Comments: Not an impressive show at all. I didn't get the TNA experience that I keep reading about. It sure didn't make an appearance in Abilene. Everybody just seemed to be going through the motions.
Abyss and Bubba looked fat.
Kurt Angle looked like death warmed over. Is he sick? He looked horrible. Kurt looked like an old man, he's lost a ton of weight, and can't weigh 200 pounds. I guess that Rhaka Khan girl just wore him out. And TNA sent Jeff Jarrett home??? Foley walked like an old man too.
The attendance wasn't good. TNA, for their first time, should have had more fans. The arena wasn't even close to being half full. When WWE comes, its packed. A lot of people that I talked to didn't even know TNA was in town so TNA didn't promote their own show. When WWE comes, everybody knows it.
Borash should shut up. Borash talked too much all night. After a while, he is very annoying. Who cares about his twitter account. Fans came to see wrestling, not listen to him play carnival barker all night.
The six-sided ring is a joke. As the fans were leaving, I could overhear them saying that they expected to see a better show, not some clowns like Eric Young and Bashir. Where was Beer Money? Where were AJ Styles, Matt Morgan or Samoa Joe? Where were Kong and Saeed? We get Kyoshi and Shark Boy.
Before the show, I didn't think there was much difference between TNA and WWE. Now I can see it. WWE is light years ahead of TNA. TNA compared to WWE is like comparing the Indoor Football league to the NFL. I won't be back.
