TNA Live Event
Bristol, Tennessee at Vance Middle School
Report by Dot Net reader Clayton Holmes Jr.

There was a decent turnout for the show, but nowhere near a sellout. With better advertisement they could have probably sold the place out. I didn’t even find out about the show until a week ago and that was by accident.

Before the show started Madison Rayne was signing autographs and taking pictures at the merchandise stand. Pretty girl in person! I saw Ricky Morton of the Rock n Roll Express walking around and was able to get a picture with him and his autograph. He lives here in Bristol.

1. Dewey Barnes defeated a local wrestler. Barnes made his entrance from the merchandise table (where he was working). The wrestler he faced is from Knoxville, but I’m not familiar with. Anyways, Dewey the underdog won and later headed back to the merch table.

2. Chris Sabin defeated Austin Aries to retain the X Division Title. Decent match with Sabin taking the victory after using a foreign object.

3. Knockouts Champion Gail Kim defeated Madison Rayne. Kim won after rolling Madison up and holding the ropes for the win. Nice effort by both ladies.

4. World Tag Champions The BroMans defeated James Storm and Gunner. Probably the most fun match of the night. Lots of comedy.

5. Abyss beat Bobby Roode with the Black Hole Slam.  Abyss wasn’t advertised for the show, so seeing him was a nice surprise. The guy is huge in person.

6. World Champion Magnus beat The Icon Sting. This was the first match of a double main event. Magnus rolled Sting up for the win as Sting was attending to the injured referee. There were a couple botched moves during this match.

7. Samoa Joe beat Bully Ray in a best of three falls match. Bully Ray attacked Joe from behind before the match allowing him to take the first fall. Joe took the second and then third fall finishing off Bully Ray with the clutch, causing him to submit. Decent match but way too quick for a main event.

Notes: After the match, fans were allowed to have their picture taken with Samoa Joe at ringside for only $10. Not a bad deal, but you had to use your own camera. One of the staff would take the picture for you. Joe isn’t my favorite, but my Dad and I had our picture taken with him and he was very cool in person. Nice guy. On our way out we saw Earl and Brian Hebner at the merchandise table and were able to get a picture with them and their autographs for free. Seemed like good guys.

This was my first TNA Live Event and overall it was a good show. I wouldn’t say great but good. In my opinion, WWE puts on a better show as far as the in-ring action, but TNA crushes WWE when it comes to fan interaction. The highlights of the night for me were seeing Sting in person since he rarely works house shows, and also getting a chance to meet some of the TNA talent. It was a fun experience that I would gladly do again.

We are looking for correspondents for all WWE, TNA, ROH, DGUSA/Evolve events. If you attend an upcoming show and want to help out Prowrestling.net, send your report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.
