9/2 TNA in Burton, Ohio: Mickie James vs. Winter, Mexican America vs. Devon and The Pope, Mr. Anderson vs. Bully Ray, and Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles
Sep 3, 2011 - 10:20 AM

Dot Net Reader Ben Hough attended the TNA house show in Burton, Ohio on Spetember 2 and sent along the following report.

It was extremely hot and humid throughout the day before the show and despite the terrible heat, the TNA roster still gave a great effort and it turned out to be a very fun evening.

As usual, those who purchased 50 dollar tickets got a pre- show meet and greet with several TNA stars. The Pope, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries, Devon, Winter, Robbie E, and Mexican America participated.

The show started at 8 pm and again, the weather was extremely hot. However the crowd still was loud and into all the action.

1. Alex Shelley beat Austin Aries and Robbie E. in a triple threat X division match. Aries and Robbie started out by working together on Shelley, but eventually Aries and Robbie E got into it and Shelley was able to pin Robbie E.

2. Knockouts Champion Mickie James beat Winter. James won with the DDT. Crowd was super-hot for this one and James got a monster reaction.

3. Jeff Jarrett beat Eric Young- Jarrett's Mexican Title was on the line. Jarrett won with the stroke. Jarrett cut a pre match promo on the crowd.

4. Tag Champions Mexican America beat Devon and The Pope. Really good long tag match. Finish came when Hernandez hit Devon with one of the tag belts as Earl Hebner was distracted by The Pope. Pope gave a heelish smirk afterwards and when Devon was up after the belt shot quickly hugged him. Funny stuff.

5. Mr. Anderson beat Bully Ray. Match had great fan heat. Anderson was super over and Bully Ray got the crowd fired up with a pre match promo running everyone down. Anderson won with the Mic Check.

6. TNA World Champion Kurt Angle beat AJ Styles. Crowd was really into this one. Usual great match from these 2. Angle won after pulling ref Brian Hebner in front of him while Styles attempted a move off the top. He then kicked Styles in the groin and delivered an Angle Slam for the victory.

Afterwards, AJ took photos in the ring for 20 bucks.

As noted above, the weather was really, really hot and even as the show started it was very humid. However, the wrestlers still put on a fun show and the fans were into everything all night.
