TNA house show report
Cincinnati, Oh.
Report by Dot Net reader Ben Hough
My friend and I made the five hour trip from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati for the TNA house show and it was well worth it. There was about 2,500 people there and the merchandise stand was packed. There were a lot of people wearing A.J. Styles and Curry Man shirts.
1. Consequences Creed beat Johnny Devine. Creed was doing the Apollo Creed gimmick. He was dressed in the USA Trunks and came out to "Living In America." The crowd was very hot for this match.
2. Roxxi and Traci Brooks beat The Beautiful People. Huge heel heat for Velvet Sky and Angelina Love. Roxxi got a massive pop. Roxxi and Brooks won after Roxxi pinned Velvet Sky. ODB came out to save Roxxi and Traci from a post-match attack.
3. Eric Young beat Kip James after going under the ring and morphing into Super Eric. Not a lot to this match, but again the crowd was red hot throughout and chanted "Super Eric" throughout. After the match Kip James was giving the "suck it" sign to the fans.
4. Kaz and Abyss beat Scott Steiner and Petey Williams. The heat for this match was off the charts. Scott Steiner ran down Cincy, getting the biggest heel heat of the night. The match was really good. Abyss pinned Williams after the Black Hole Slam.
Shark Boy came out and did a promo and challenged a local DJ named "Meat" to a fight. He gave the Stunner to Meat and then James Storm, who was at ringside stating he was injured, attacked Shark Boy. Shark Boy was over huge with the crowd.
5. Curry Man beat Robert Roode. Very solid match. Curry Man got a great reaction from the fans and seemed to be having a good time sucking up the cheers of the crowd. The match ended when Roode attempted to bring a chair in and the lights went out, When they came on, Al Snow was in the ring and Curry hit the Spice Rack and Snow counted to three.
6. TNA Champion Samoa Joe beat AJ Styles in a pay per view quality bout. Styles got the loudest pop of the night. The crowd was just insane for him. Joe got a really good reaction as well. Duel chants of "Lets go Styles" and "Lets go Joe" throughout. The match was awesome. They wrestled a high impact stiff match and the crowd was just insane for the entire match. Joe won with the Muscle Buster.
After the event, many of the TNA wrestlers came out to sign autographs and you could take a picture in the ring with Joe and Styles together for 20 bucks.
Notes: This was one of the best shows I have ever attended. WWE runs in the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh quite often and this was more fun than any Raw, Smackdown, or PPV that they have put on in a long, long time.
This was my fourth TNA event. I also went to the Against All Odds pay-per-view in February, The Elmira, N.Y. house show in February, and also attended a house show in Niles, Ohio early in the year.
The crowd was very enthusiastic and Jeremy Borash did a great job keeping them fired up throughout. The wrestlers seemed really pumped up to be in front of such a hot crowd.
I can't say enough about the atmosphere. It was just electric and the crowd was popping for everything! Nothing beats seeing TNA Live. Please do so if you haven't yet.
