TNA house show report
Derby, Vt. at the IROC
Report by Dot Net reader Matty McDonald
1. The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Rock-n Rave Infection (Christy Hemme). A good starting tag match. Lot's of back and forth with Rave/Sabin/Shelley. The finish came when MCMG gave Rave a double superkick to the face at around the eight minute mark.
2. Curry Man defeated Sonjay Dutt. They opened the match a couple of really funny spots. One spot saw Curry Man and Dutt hugging in the ring. Sonjay turned heel about three minutes into the match. Lot's of really quick action. Curry Man won after delivering the Spice Rack. After the match Petey Williams did a run in and laid out Curry Man with the X-Division belt. Williams looks just like Scott Stiener.
3. Awesome Kong defeated ODB and Roxxi Laveaux in a three-way to retain the TNA Knockouts Title. The match started off with Roxxi and ODB double teaming Kong, only to have Kong give them a double clothesline. Very solid match between the three ladies. The finish was an Awesome Bomb by Kong on Roxxi for the win. ODB was very over.
4. Booker T defeated Robert Roode. Roode came out first and he wouldn't enter the ring until Earl Hebner held the ropes open for him. When he did this I yelled, "That is your punishment for screwing Bret!" The place went nuts when Booker came out. A great old school match. Back and forth, a couple of false finishes. The finish came when Booker T gave Roode the Scissors Kick for the three count.
Intermission
Kurt Angle delivered a three minute promo (Editor's Note: Angle is reportedly nursing a head/neck injury, but he is expected to wrestle on Sunday at the pay-per-view).
5. LAX defeated James Storm and Shark Boy. Nice back and forth tag match. The finish saw Homicide give the Gringo Cutter on Storm for the three. After the match James Storm tried to superkick Shark Boy but he ducked and gave Storm a Stunner.
6. Samoa Joe defeated A.J. Styles to retain the TNA Title. The crowd was split between the two wrestlers. Both wrestlers got their signature moves in. The finish was Joe with the Musclebuster.
Notes: There were about 600 people at the show. TNA was very open about people getting autographs and pictures, it was a very relaxing atmosphere. Booker T was the most over of all the wrestlers. Awesome Kong looks much bigger on TV. I spoke to one of the TNA Directors and he said they planned on coming back to Vermont in about four months.
