TNA house show
Loveland, Colo. at Budweiser Events Center
Report by Dot Net reader Michael Moore of Casper, Wy.

I took my kids to the TNA house show in Loveland (on Saturday night). Really fun show, but the turnout was horrible, I would guess not more than 250-300. It was a real shame, but the wrestlers all put on a great show and seemed to be having a good time on Halloween.

1. Suicide defeated Eric Young in a non-title match. Young got the most heat of the night. Good match, both guys worked really hard.

2. Awesome Kong defeated Hamada. Basically a squash. Kong got a good reception, Hamada didn't get much of a reaction. Kong won with the awesome bomb.

3. Hernandez defeated Kip James. Hernandez got a really good reception, and Kip got a polite legends-type reception. Funny moment as Kip came out to talk to my son, who brought a Hernandez sign. He pointed at Hernandez's picture and asked where his was. He asked if he was the white space on the sign, and said: "I guess I'm the invisible man. That's about how it goes anymore." Hernandez won with the dominator. No Border Toss tonight.

4. Abyss defeated Rhino in a Monster's Ball match. Rhino seemed to be having a blast. He started out really serious, but once weapons were introduced, he really hammed it up. He did the old Rick Rude hip swivel for the Hooters girls sitting at ringside. A funny moment as Abyss grabbed the timekeeper's bell and placed it between Rhino's legs, then hit it with the hammer. Rhino spoke in a super high pitched voice for the rest of the match. Abyss won with a chokeslam on a trash can.

5. Beer Money defeated Homicide and Kiyoshi (w/Eric Young). James Storm was either legitimately injured or really upset with a fan who had been heckling the faces all night. The fan was obnoxious and screamed obscenities all night, and should have been thrown out by security. He was really bad with Beer Money. Storm got bumped off the ring and into the railing right in front of that fan. I didn't see what happened but he was either hurt or really pissed. Beer Money quickly finished the match with the DWI and then Storm grabbed his hat and quickly left, leaving Roode to do the post-match antics by himself.

6. AJ Styles defeated Samoa Joe. The idiot heckling Beer Money was at it with AJ in this match too. Before the match, AJ pointed to a fan, who was dressed like Vince McMahon and had a WWE World title replica. AJ took the belt and wiped his ass with it, then threw it back at the fan. Earl Hebner then got in on the act, took the belt from the fan, wiped his ass with it, stomped on it and then threw it back at him. AJ won with the Pele.

Notes: After the show, AJ took pictures with fans for $20. Abyss, Hernandez and Beer Money all came out to sign autographs. Beer Money, who were really energetic and clowning around before their match, seemed agitated and wanted to get out of there. Storm was walking around real gingerly and seemed to be favoring his back. Hernandez and Abyss were great with the fans and really seemed to be having fun. AJ was very friendly but was rushed out of the ring by a TNA rep faster than the rest of the wrestlers and told he had a plane to catch.

I felt really bad for the wrestlers because of the low turnout, but kudos to them for not phoning it in. Other than the incident with Beer Money and the idiot fan, they all seemed to be having a great time and enjoying themselves. Eric Young and Rhino got the only real heel heat of the night; the fans seemed really happy and appreciative of everyone there. Beer Money were by far the most over of the night, followed by AJ and Joe. Halloween made for a fun atmosphere, but it may have also contributed to the low turnout of the show.
