3/12 Talon Robinson's TNA Impact Coverage: Matt Morgan and Beer Money vs. Abyss and Team 3D in an Elimination Match, Sting's representative vs. Kurt Angle's representative, Lethal Consequences and two partners vs. Booker T, Steiner, and two partners

TNA Impact on Spike TV
Taped in Orlando, Fla.
[Q1] Highlights of last week aired including the brawl between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett… This week’s title is "Final Destination for the Main Event Mafia…" The Impact intro aired…
[Q1]Kurt Angle came to the ring. He brought up last week and said Jeff Jarrett crossed the line. Kurt said he is sick in the head. He kept saying “the world is mine”. Jeff Jarrett came to the ring but before he could battle it out with Angle, BG James and Mick Foley cut him off and convinced him to go back to the hotel.
Mick Foley asked Kurt Angle what was wrong with him. Foley claimed Angle used to be a gold medalist but now his arrogance is bringing TNA down around him. Foley said he thought he could talk to Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner but they are as bad as Kurt is. Foley said the only one left was Sting. Foley then challenged Angle to fight it out with him. “Give me the opportunity to Cactus Jack your ass”. Unfortunately Kurt Angle backed off…
In the back with JB and Jim Cornette. Sting came in and was addressed by Cornette. Cornette said TNA Management was on his back about other wrestlers complaining about not getting spotlight. Therefore tonight Sting and Kurt Angle would both pick a representative who will battle it out tonight with Sting and Angle in their corners. Sting was happy that Cornette would allow him ringside with Angle. Borash questioned Cornette’s decision but Cornette told him that when dealing with chaos make it something you create and that you can control…[C]
Talon’s Take: I like the shady line between reality and fantasy mentioning lower morale in the locker room. It build up intensity for the storylines.
[Q2] In the back Mick Foley was with Jenna Morasca. She said her favorite wrestler was Kevin Nash. Before a lot was said Foley said he and Morasca needed to talk business. Matt Morgan then came up to Lauren and asked if Abyss was answering his challenge for a “Match of 10,000 Tacks” but Lauren said no and that Abyss came a long way with his therapy. Morgan said he gets whatever he wants and tried to kiss Lauren but she slapped him across the face…
Talon’s Take: Let’s see what TNA does with Morasca. She is attractive but that doesn’t mean much.
1. Rhino defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir in 4:00. During the early portions of the match Don West joined Mike Tenay on commentary. Tenay ran down what happened on the show so far but West was unimpressed. Tenay mentioned that West smelled like alcohol. Rhino went for a Gore, missed but moments later rolled up Bashir for the win. After the match Bashir low blowed Rhino then went for a steel chair. Bashir smacked Rhino across the head with a chair then laid the turban over the body of Rhino...
Talon’s Take: Oh, how the mighty have fallen. One moment Rhino is in the main event, the next he is getting beat down by Sheik Abdul Bashir. I also remember these two already feuding at Turning Point last year.
Jeremy Borash was with the Beautiful People and Madison Rayne. Velvet Sky said her new sorority is called My Pi Sexy. Sky said that at Destination X it was on. Jeremy Borash though they were referring to a Manage-a-Trois. Angelina Love implied that Borash had an erection which embarrassed Borash. Angeline said tonight it was Madison Rayne’s initiation into the My Pi Sexy...[C]
[Q3] Kurt Angle was trying to recruit Scott Steiner and the other members of the Main Event Mafia but nobody would step up. Angle said he would find someone...
Jim Cornette was in his locker room with Booker T. Jim Cornette said he would return Booker’s belt if he signed a contract saying the cops wouldn’t be involved again. Booker agreed and ran his mouth saying he wants AJ Styles but stalled when Cornette presented him with another contract for a match against AJ at Destination X. After Cornette said Booker was getting older, Booker quickly signed the contract for the match...
Talon’s Take: This segment made sense of Jim Cornette taking away Booker T’s toy belt, but couldn’t Booker tell the cops to have Cornette return his title belt to him?
In the back Eric Young was with Sting. Eric wanted to face Kurt Angle’s representative tonight but Sting was hesitant. Young convinced him after mentioning that he respected Sting and how Ric Flair did the same for Sting earlier in his career. Sting eventually agreed...[C]
Talon’s Take: I hope Young gets the rub tonight because TNA needs a new level of main event talent.
A history video of Joe’s Nation of Violence aired where he said in three days nothing will ever be the same...
Talon’s Take: Good segment highlighting the character of Joe!
Lauren was with Lethal Consequences in the back. Lethal said they have been used as a doormat. Consequences Creed called Scott Steiner a roided up Rick Astley. Lethal said their tag partners were “Santana and Morales” which was later revealed as LAX. Hernandez said “welcome to the show...”[C]
[Q4] Kurt Angle was trying to recruit Kiyoshi go represent him tonight. Kiyoshi bowed but Kurt didn’t know what he meant. Kurt kicked him low but when Team No Limit went after Kurt, the Mafia security held back the Japanese. Kurt said if you don’t speak English don’t come to this country…
Talon’s Take: Another X guy looks bad against Kurt Angle!
2. Matt Morgan and Beer Money Inc defeated Team 3D and Abyss in an Elimination Tag Team Match in 10:00. Brother Devon was eliminated first after Jacqueline came in a low blowed him followed by the Last Call from James Storm. We went to break with a three-on-two handicap advantage for the heels... [C]
[Q5] Back from the break, Beer Money is still in control. Brother Ray tagged in but James Storm came in and spit beer in the eyes of Ray. Unfortunately for Storm the referee saw him and disqualified him. Moments later Ray pinned Robert Roode with a Brother Bomb. Matt Morgan then quickly chokeslammed Ray and eliminated him. It was down to Abyss and Matt Morgan. Morgan gained control and brought in the tacks but was cut off by a chokeslam from Abyss. Abyss’ tunnel vision distracted him allowing Matt Morgan to hit the Carbon Footprint for the win.
After the match Matt Morgan cornered Lauren and goozled her. Abyss came in for the save and cleared Morgan from the ring. Morgan asked Abyss what its going to be. Abyss nodded in approval. Looks like it will be the Match of 10,000 Tacks at Destination X...[C]
Talon’s Take: The match was okay. The lack of time hurt the effect of the eliminations in my opinion. I just want TNA to devote more ring time to the show.
Mike Tenay and Don West argued at the commentary booth. Tenay told West to leave which he did...
In the back Abyss was freaking out and said that in the Match of 10,000 Tacks, Morgan would have more holes in him than the A-Rod Story. Abyss said this Sunday he would make Matt Morgan “his bitch...”
[Q6] 3. Taylor Wilde defeated Madison Rayne in 2:00. Mick Foley joined Mike Tenay on commentary. Traci Brooks was referee for this match. Taylor Wilde hit a nice Backbreaker followed by a Sunset Flip, however Rayne grabbed the referee. Eventually though Traci had enough and pushed Madison into the pin leading to the pinfall. After the match the Beautiful People and Madison Rayne laid out the faces...
Talon’s Take: Very blah segment. I hate the Governor Character.
On “Trash Talkin’” with ODB, Jeremy Borash was hitting on ODB. JB tried to find out how to round the bases with ODB. ODB had a drummer on the set. By the end ODB was on top of JB…[C]
Talon’s Take: ODB was really funny in this one. JB is one horny man, though.
Back from the break the Main Event Mafia bullied Mike Tenay and Mick Foley at the announcers booth. Foley and Booker had a heated argument. It looked like security escorted the Mafia away but all of a sudden Scott Steiner laid out Foley with his pipe. Mike Tenay and BG James checked on Foley who was bleeding on top of his head...[C]
[Q7] During the break Medics tended to Mick Foley who refused to go into the Ambulance.
In a Rough Cut segment Alex Shelley, Consequences Creed, Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal spoke about the Ultimate X Match this Sunday...
4. LAX and Lethal Consequences defeated Scott Steiner, Booker T and the Motor City Machine Guns in 5:00. The Motor City Machine Guns were the partners of Scott Steiner and Booker T. Hernandez kicked things off strong with a big belly to belly suplex. The Mafia and The Guns gained control and isolated Consequences Creed for a few moments. Lethal almost got the win with a springboard back elbow. Everything broke down as everyone brawled with everyone. Hernandez picked up the win after a Border Toss on Chris Sabin...
Talon’s Take: Nice little match that previewed the Ultimate X Match this Sunday. Suicide is definitely the wildcard in that match. I guess the Mafia is giving the Frontline guys a rub by allowing them to team with them.
After a Cross the Line video we were joined in the back by Jeremy Borash and Mick Foley. Foley went Mankind on Jeremy Borash cutting a very intense promo. Foley said it wasn’t supposed to happen like this but it makes him happy...[C]
Talon’s Take: Good promo from Foley, who seems to be going back to his “dark side”
[Q8] Kurt Angle tried to recruit Brutus Magnus but the “Modern Day Gladiator” turned down the invitation. Kurt Angle then asked the bigger security guard, Rocco if he wanted in this match, which Rocco agreed to…
5. Eric Young (w/Sting) defeated Rocco (w/Kurt Angle) in 3:30. Mick Foley was wandering the back halls as we went to break...[C]
Back from the break, the opening bell rang and Eric Young took the fight to the bigger security member. Rocco used his strength to fight back. Rocco missed the Tsunami Splash and Young capitalized with a big EY Driver on Rocco for the win...
After the match Kurt Angle jumped Sting and Eric Young. Sting fought back but the numbers game came into play. Mick Foley came down but was countered by Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. Eventually Jeff Jarrett came out and laid everyone out with chair shots. He was going to lay out Sting with a chair but stopped.
Jarrett grabbed a mic and told Kurt that this three ring circus stops now. Jarrett said to ensure that the match between Sting and Angle isn’t a circus he is making himself and Mick Foley as ring enforcers for that match...
Talon’s Take: I smell a swerve! In all seriousness, I don’t like the added elements to the main event at Destination X. TNA often overdoes the stipulations which take away from the one on one encounter. If you didn’t know Rocco, he was Big Tilly of Phi Delta Slam in 2005. Eric Young got a small rub tonight but not much. Overall, this show did a good job building towards Destination X but wasn’t one of my favorites as in entertainment factor. My grade for this show is a C.
